SUMMARY:Understanding the Role of Anthropogenic Heat in Shaping Urban Heat Islands and Groundwater Response Through Remote Sensing
DESCRIPTION:This lecture focuses on the growing impact of anthropogenic heat in urban areas and its role in intensifying urban heat islands and altering groundwater temperature patterns. Through the use of remote sensing—particularly thermal and optical satellite imagery—we will explore how land use changes and increased impervious surfaces contribute to rising surface and subsurface temperatures. The session emphasizes the relevance of geospatial analysis for understanding urban climate dynamics and supports sustainable urban planning and water resource management. \n\nVIEW RECORDING\n\n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Surya Deb ChakrabortyMBRSC LabDr. Surya Deb Chakraborty is an accomplished Analyst at the MBRSC Lab\, University of Dubai.
